Photography by Bruce Weber Published by Little Bear Press , New York, 1990 First Edition, First Printing Offered SEALED under publisher's wraps and in AS NEW condition is Bruce Weber's “Sam Shepard,” published in 1990. Published to benefit the Film Forum, NYC, this rare title features master photographer Bruce Weber's pictures of playwright and filmmaker Sam Shepard. The book also includes photographs of Shepard's wife, Jessica Lange, and an essay from Weber. Shepard is an influential artist who has worked with Patti Smith, Bob Dylan, Richard Gere, and Sean Penn. He has also acted in numerous movies, including “Days of Heaven” and “The Right Stuff,” the latter of which garnered him an Oscar nomination. In photos and text Weber expresses his respect for Shepard as a defining American artist and personal hero. The beautiful black-and-white photographs presented within show Weber's artistry and talent as a photographer. Weber has photographed for Rolling Stone, Vogue, and Vanity Fair, and has created iconic ad campaigns for Calvin Klein and Abercrombie and Fitch, among others. “Sam Shepard” applies his skill in photographing men and the male figure to this rugged American icon of stage and screen. This is a rare Bruce Weber title and a must-have for collectors. It was never released for commercial distribution in the United States and is growing difficult to find in AS NEW condition. This is a SEALED hardcover book in AS NEW condition with cloth boards featuring a pasted image on the cover and no dust jacket, as issued. It contains 36 pages with 25 black-and-white photographs and measures 9 x 11 inches.
