A Good First Quality Samson Smith Old Royal Fine Bone China Tea Size Milk or Cream Jug in the Rosebud pattern measuring 10cm high (4") it looks in very good condition, there are no cracks, chips, crazing or damage, the pattern is sharp and clear, the glaze very shiny and the gold trim looks completely intact. Sampson Smith Ltd was founded in 1846 under various addresses in Longton Staffordshire initially they manufactured earthenwares figures etc changing to bone china in the 20th century. Various owners have carried on the old Sampson Smith title and Ltd was added to the style, circa 1918. From 1954 Samson Smith Ltd became a member of the Alfred Clough Group parent company to Barker Bros, Cartwright & Edwards, W.H.Grindley and Royal Art Pottery.
