This is a rare porcelain figural produced by Samson of France. Samson did a lot of their pieces in the likeness of Meissen, it is very high quality porcelain and is finely handpainted and sculpted. This piece is of two ladies and a gentleman who is gazing at the lady in the center. T is a little dog prancing up to the other lady who is sitting down looking at a pocket watch. The detail is amazing and quite exquisite. T is lace trim on the figures and they are painted with beautiful colors. T is some damage to this figure which includes a chip under the lady in the chair which is under the chair on the floor (flake and very minor), also I am unsure as to whether the lady in the center has had her head repaired at the neck, or if t is just a bit of damage at her neck line. I used a magnifying glass and it is so hard to be sure, so mentioning it could be either. T is also some damage to the lace trim on their garments and one tiny nick is found at the edge of the base on the right side. The damage is non-detracting and the piece displays beautifully. T is a crest at the middle of the base, perhaps this piece was made for someone of importance. It measures 11 inches across by 8 1/2 inches tall and is marked with the Samson marking to the back base. A rare find that is for the advanced collector. ~Please view my other fine antiques listed on auction this week, thank you!~ **For those who have asked questions regarding the marking, it is the blue underglaze Samson marking...an X with a line thru the center.
