What a wonderful rememberance and a classic example, of a "family" gatd with a beloved pet, during such a difficult and trying time, in the history of the City by the Bay! Being offered for your consideration, is an antique original , glass negative photo. A touching yet historical picture of what took place following the tragic San Francisco 1906 Earthquake. This original glass negative photo features a medium sized, wavey coated dog, sitting on a sidewalk, looking at his master attentively. The dog's head appears to be cocked to the left. He's wearing a collar and sitting calmly. I'm assuming he was well taken care of and not a displaced stray. This is an original glass negative photo, taken in the front of a store that offered stationery, notions, dry goods and ladies and gents furnishings ( as stated on the store's canvas awning.) An advertising sign featuring a single ladies glove pointing downwards may be seen above the awning to the right of the awning. A woman is standing with arms folded directly in front of the store window. She appears to be taking in the scene unfolding before her. The healthy looking man wearing a hat, shirt, vest and pants as well as a very large watch and chain, may have been the store proprietor. He's kneeling on one knee and chopping wood with a small axe.
