Up for auction is a lovely group of historic black on black New Mexico pueblo pottery From San Ildefonso The Marie & Julian pot is in very good condition with a well-preserved gun-metal glaze & no cracks: condition is around an 8-8.5 with very small picks and buffing. Signature is excellent. Size is 3 ½”w x 2 3/8”h The Desideria (Maria Martinez’ sister) is in average condition with blistering in the glazing and numerous pickoffs. T are no chips or cracks however & the signature is very good. Condition overall 7-8 Size is 5”w x 3 ½”h The Anna (Maximiliana, another Maria Martinez sister) is in rougher condition with small areas of white scuffing distributed over approximately 50% - some can be seen in the photo . T is a small (approximately 1/8”) crack in the glazing near the pattern ( barely visible), and another small chip on the base which can be seen in the signature shot. Glazing is rough on the base and interior. Signature is legible when wiped with a damp cloth or viewed with the right light. Condition 6-7, Size is 5 ½”w x 3 1/8”h From Santa Clara The Geri Naranjo is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. Glaze is in very good condition with very small areas of buffing & 1 visible pick. Condition is 8-8.5 and signature is very good. Size is 3 ¾”w x 1 5/8”h Overall a very nice set and a real piece of history for
