PASSAGE TO ANTIQUITY is very pleased and proud to offer for your consideration this magnificent sandstone wall fragment from ancient Egypt depicting the head of a nobleman in profile. This handsome item measures 13 cm x 19 cm and, on average, is 2.5 cm thick. The fragment is dated to the New Kingdom, the 18th Dynasty, 1550 - 1295 BC. The piece quite probably was part of a large portion of wall in a tomb. The fragment is covered with a light earthen patina and is in excellent condition. Egyptian craftsmen were extremely skilled in the art of incising figures into a stone medium. This is very apparent when viewing scenes from the tombs of royalty or nobles. A Certificate of Authenticity is included and U.S. shipping is always free. Please add $10.00 for out-of-country destinations.
