First off, I do this as a hobby, not for a living. I spend a lot of hours refurbishing one of these marvelous amps. It's a source of enjoyment and pride for me, so each amp is my best work, NOT my fastest most profitable work, as others may need to do.I am known as Scottrt on AudioKarma's 'Exclusively Sansui' forum. I also do restorations on certain turntables, and modify tube gear. But my first love are the 1970's built Sansui gear. This AU-717 has been completely dis-assembled and thoroughly cleaned... frame/transformers/chassis/cct. boards/case cover/face and knobs...complete. Please bear in mindthat most of these parts are replaced to reset the clock on soundquality and reliability. If you own or consider purchasing a nice used UNrestored 30 year old Sansui amp, it WILL need rebuilding. You can do it before it fails and perhaps destroys the original output transistors, or be like me and restore them while they still work and sound fine. ALL electrolytic capacitors, standard diodes, zener diodes, germanium diodes, fuse resistors, many regular resistors, trimmer pots, and any other component affected by the Sansui glue have been replaced. The 4 big main filter caps have NOT been replaced... they looked and tested excellent so I kept them.Only top of the line have been used:Nichicon PW and Elna Silmic II caps, Fairchild diodes, Bourns
