This is a wonderful Modernist design sculpture made by Giovanni Schoeman depicting a bronze color owl on a branch with the silvery moon (with bronze colored stars in the view) in the background.This sculpture is designed for wall hanging.The technique utilizes metallic compounds of bronze,pewter,brass,and copper colors skilfully applied in a mold,the mold then filled with a high density resin.The process is tedious and complex.Giovanni was a early innovator of this technique,taught it in Santa Barbara,Calif. and was popular and succesful.He was also a diamond smuggler and was murdered in a highly publicised event so his works have become very scarce and collectable.This is a "GIOVANNI SCHOEMAN"signed art work done by a master artist with fine detail and finishing.This sculpture was made as a wall hanging that is about 9 1/4" high by 9 1/4" widest with body about 2 5/8 " deep,is used,is beautiful and is in excellent condition except for some minor handling surface scratches.This item would be a great addition for a fine art collection and would be a great gift for yourself or meone special. ***SHIPPING:This will weigh about 6 pounds packed.I ship with USPS and charge $7.50 for handling,materials,ebay required US delivery confirmation ($.80),and opening bid insurance ($5.25).I combine shipping whenever possible.I pack well-see my feedback.
