VINTAGE AMERICAN FLYER LOCOMOTIVES, S GUAGE You are bidding on the exact locomotives photographed here. 484/485/486 Santa Fe This is the 1956 version with the two rivet sheet-metal steps. All those steps are present with some oxidation on the 84 and 86. Horns and metal air intakes are all present, some oxidation on the air intakes. The lights work. The decals are mostly missing on 486 and partially missing on 484. All the couplings work. All the locomotives are definitely used and showing some wear. The right side of the nose on 484 had scratches that were painted over, also a slightly discolored spot of 2 inches by ½ inch on the roof. The last photo shows the color of oxidation on large areas of the tops – that is a function of the flash – that is not present on the locomotives. I had them on the track and they all roll fine and go just fine in both forward and reverse. I did not know how to test the horn and I wasn’t aware of a possible diesel sound because I didn’t know it was part of the package at the time I had access to a test situation. I am not a train person and am just liquidating a friend’s estate.
