This Santa mold belonged to my dear departed grandmother. She collected these antique pewter ice cream molds and had them to decorate for all of the major holidays. I have two of these Santa molds- so please see my other listings to view the other. This mold is 5" tall and 2-1/2" wide without the hinge. On the outside front of the mold, the following can be read: "E & CO, NY, 1890". T is another line that I can't read. Also, "991" is on the back of the mold. I am guessing that 991 is the mold number for Santa, as my other Santa bears the same number, but the designs are slightly different. Different annual editions perhaps? Both molds are in fine condition without damage except for the wear of the decades. I do not know the age of either mold, but this mold bears the stamp 1890.
