SARB 90th Anniversary bi-metallic MS-66 R5 coin - South Africa 90th South African Reserve Bank Anniversary commemorative bi-metallic R5 circulation coin MS-66 Generic image Description A commemorative bi-metallic R5 coin has been minted by the South African Mint to celebrate the occasion of the South African Reserve Bank's 90th Anniversary. The coin is quite interesting in that it features various images of coins (as well as a banknote) that have been issued by the Reserve Bank and the South African Mint.The obverse (front) of the coin features the South African coat of arms with the country name in isiZulu as well as isiNdebele. (South Africa has 11 official languages and they are used on a rotation basis on its coinage).The coin is graded MS-66 by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation. Background The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) was established in 1921 and in 2011 celebrates its 90th anniversary. A special commemorative coin was minted by the South African mint to commemorate the occasion.
