This listing is for one Sargent and Greenleaf Prototype 8400 Acrylic Safe Dial Display.
It was made during the 1960s and is in very good condition.
Very few were made and the only other ones I've seen are in the Harry C. Miller Collection.
This clear acrylic dial and dial ring was made to show drilling or tamper marks on or under the dial ring on the container. The U.S. government was worried about the KGB getting into its classified containers and replacing the lock.
The dial and butterfly knob spin freely and smoothly.
