Biomorphic Amoeba Ware Description: The item up for bids is a vintage enamel on copper plate by the late great Sascha Brastoff. It has a bold palette with gold and copper amoeba forms on an rich reddish orange background. The amoeba shapes are thick rounded droplets, you can feel them as raised bubbles on the surface. They have a translucent quality that lends a feeling of depth. The execution of the enameling on this example is quite good, all of the cells have nuclei. There is a lot of very fine metal flake in the enamel so it has good shimmer. It is signed with a golden Sascha in the lower left. The reverse side is speckled black. This is a great example of mid century modern metal ware from an acknowledged master, have some fun and bid! Condition: The condition is very good to excellent vintage, there are no chips, fractures, or cracks. Dimensions: It measures roughly 8 1/4" in diameter.
