I am selling some of my accumulation (I started out a collector, but, you know, it's a slippery slope from "collector" to "accumulator"!).

You are bidding on an Estate pipe, a Canadian by Sasieni, made in England . The factory markings are legible but very light from, I guess, buffing. The push-in fish tail bit has a snug fit to the mortise. T is a little "tooth chatter "on one side of the bit at the end. T is a small but visible "putty" fill on the underside of the very long shank. Unfortunately, t are no "dots" on either the bit or the shank and the SASIENI name is in block, not script. The bowl and shank are a light brown color and the finish is smooth. (Please refer to photos) A pipe cleaner will pass through to the bowl without removing the bit.

Many men would have been perfectly satisfied with such a position, but not Mr. Sasieni. He opened up his own factory in 1919, believing he could improve on some of Dunhill's methods. This article is recommended reading for those that are interested in collecting Sasieni's pipes or those who just like a bit of background on their pipes. It is an excellent article.
