As you can see, this Sasieni Family Era "Stamford" natural is a saddle bit billiard with an inside bevel on the rim of the bowl. The one piece of nomenclature which failed to show on any of the photos that I took of this pipe is the "Made in England" stamp in the football pattern near the mouthpiece on the right side. If held in the smoking position, t is a slight nock to the left side of the bowl in what would be the 9 o'clock position. My late, sorely missed friend Jim Benjamin would have had no trouble steaming it out, but in his absence, I would not attempt it myself. T are other very minute handling marks on the right side of the bowl in about the 4 o'clock position, and a few indistinct and very small marks which could only have come from teeth near the lip of the mouthpiece. Other than that which I have mentioned, t is no damage to either wood or the original vulcanite stem; the wood is free of splits, burn-outs, and damage to the inner and outer bowl diameters. The pipe measures 5 3/4 inches in length, the bowl is 1 3/4 inches in height, with an outside diameter of 1 3/16 inches and a chamber diameter of approximately 3/4 inch. A successful international bidder should wait for an invoice containing the exact shipping charges.
