Reply to: [ Errors when replying to ads? ] Gorgeous Satinwood Bedroom Suite: Has been in my family since the 1930's but I believe it was made in the 20's. My grandmother purchased it in the 30's and used by her until it passed to me in the 70's and I have used it since. Note the gorgeous herringbone inlay pattern on all the drawers and the headboard and footboard. All the original lovely ornate hardware is in place. The is a full-sized bed with hearboard and footboard as well as side rails and ancient wooden slats; a large dressing table with three drawers on each side and a slim drawer above the knee-hole; a lovely ornate mirror that suspends above the dressing table by a wire which rests on a metal pole that is attached to the back of the dressing table; a dressing table bench that is in pretty good shape (rare, few survive as they are somewhat fragile), a large chest-on-chest and a small bedsidechest with one drawer and a door area (not pictured yet as it is in storage). All are in very nice, antique condition with the expected wear for furniture of this age. The satinwood has a lovely patina. Issues: The chest has a front leg (right when facing it) that was repaired when my grandmother moved in the 1950's and an ignorant man leaned the chest on it's side. The repair was done expertly and has lasted for sixty years and is barely noticable. The stretcher that belongs on the bench has come off and I've been unable to keep it attached. I have the stretcher and it is something that any furniture restorer could repair. The finish is overall very good with normal wear; there are two very small chips on the drawers of the chest and one small piece of trim missing on the bottom. None of the defects impair the use of the furniture nor do they diminish the appearance. The furniture is being sold as is and the pricing reflects the issues I've addressed. Purchaser will be required to provide their own method of transportation.
