Very Unique, One of a Kind, Scale Model Diorama of Lake Erie…Aproximately 4' x 8'- Very Heavy ! Supposedly used in the late 60's by Governor James Rhodes to show 4 different options for building bridges across Lake Erie to Canada. It toured all of the county fairs along with the Ohio State Fair in Columbus.There are 4 bridge options displayed on model: one from Cleveland, one from Lorain, and 2 different options spanning Sandusky Bay and the Lake Eries IsandsThe depth of the Lake is to scale and depths are marked. Along with all of the Lake Erie Islands, all the major cities along the Lake are present, along with river outlets. The top has a map of Lake Erie showing the currents throughout the Lake. At one time it held water, but there are a few small cracks in the Lake bottom, which look like they could be repaired pretty easy. There are water &/or air valve-connectors on the back side to fill & control water/air flow to probably re-create the different lake current scenerios. Ther are also 2 fluorescent lights at top of model (under small hood area, under the yellow "Lake Erie" words.Fixed up/customized with glass top it could be turned into a large coffee table or display for a boating or yacht club or used as-is in a museum ??Professionally built probably by a display company and made to be able to fold/lock shut, store its own legs underneath, and be moved by truck.Comes with 6 3ft steel legs (not shown) Shipping/Delivery For the most part this is a Pick-Up Only Item, But I will deliver item within 100 miles for the cost of gas to do so. For any distance farther than 100 miles I have a relative with a Pick-up who could deliver for a $ 100-$300 depending on the distance.
