Wow! No wonder the miners called it " Black Diamonds ." Anthracite helped stoke the fires of our American Industrial Revolution , and because of it's properties, was perfect for home and business heating. The largest fields of Anthracite coal occur in Northeastern Pennsylvania called " The Coal Region ," at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain Range where the folding and compressing of the Geologic Strata was instrumental to it's formation.
