Scarce 1938 Chicago Cubs & White Sox Yearbook Description One of only several instances in which these two teams shared a season yearbook, both Chicago baseball clubs are featured in this fabulous 6 x 9 inch publication. Featuring celebrity managers Charlie Grimm (Cubs) and Jimmie Dykes (White Sox) on the cover, this 22-page publication is loaded with information and player photos for both teams. A must for many vintage Chicago Cubs collectors, this yearbook dates to their National League championship-winning season of 1938, aided by Gabby Hartnett’s legendary “Homer in the Gloamin’.” This victorious Cubs squad was also talented and colorful, featuring the likes of Gabby Hartnett, Dizzy Dean, Charlie Grimm, Stan Hack, Ripper Collins, Charley Root, Tony Lazzeri, Phil Cavarretta, etc. The cross-town White Sox lineup includes a number of luminaries as well, including Monty Stratton, Luke Appling, Ted Lyons, Joe Kuhel, Luke Sewell, Jackie Hayes, etc. Both the cover and inner pages of this scarce and desirable publication remain bright & clean. Furthermore, the cover does not have the center-crease often found on those surviving examples. With only minor corner wear (please see photo), this beauty grades in at least Ex-Mt condition!
