Boisleduc Antique Antique - Collectibles - Design Item description: Very scarce pair of antique English candlesticks with a beautifully shaped foot.(So called petal shaped foot ) the sticks are made of bronze with a beautiful turned stem with knots ;The decoration of the foot repeats itself in the top knot.The decoration of the crown is soldered on and again with the same decoration as the foot. One of the candlesticks weights the double weight of the other stick.This is because the stem of one stick is solid bronze and the other is hollow.Why this is is not clear to me because they are really exactly the same in height and shape. Manufacturer : Unknown Designer: Unknown Identification: Not marked Country: England Production date: Around 1720 Measurements: 14 1/2 inch high , the foot is 7 inch long and 4 3/4 inch wide Condition: Both are in an absolute top condition .One has a possible replaced stem but this could be original too.
