Scarce Camillus Gene Autry Pocket Knife! Large!!

This is an older Camillus Riders of the Silver Screen pocket knife. This series was introduced in 1991 and was very short-lived. Camillus had a huge problem with the clear plastic scales cracking and ended up scrapping large quantities of these. Some had the tang marks "X"ed out and were sold to the secondary market. This is such an example. Many of the "X"ed out knives have no problems whatsoever, but as these were sold in sets and it appears as though if one knife had cracked scales they scrapped the whole set. T were eleven knives in the series. I have ten of them and only a couple have cracked scales. This example has a light "X" over the tang stamp and a small fracture along the top edge of the clear handle above the horse's head as pictured. This is not very noticeable at all and can't be seen when looking at the knife "straight on." Aside from that, these are heavy, solid, and very well made knives that are quite large. This is the Gene Autry knife. The knife has never been used, carried, or sharpened. The knife measures 4" closed and weighs over 5 ounces. Note: I have recently acquired another large collection with lots of pocketknives. Check back frequently if these types of items interest you, as I'll be listing new pieces almost daily.
