SCARCE...COMPLETE CIVIL WAR PERIOD CHESS SET...ORIGINAL BOX Complete set of 32, hand-turned, hand-tinted, wood chess set. Hard to find complete. In its own slide top wooden, machine-made dovetail traveling box. The pieces have been used and show some smooth edges but no damage. The King stands 2" tall and a Pawn measures 1". The rest of the pieces size up accordingly. The chess case is in excellent condition. T is a name penciled on top that reads... J. Ivan Sorge . It measures 5-3/4 " by 3" by 2".
