A scarce large size drugstore pharmacy bottle from the Texas cowboy town of San Antonio. The bottle is embossed Sommer's Drug Stores in script followed by SAN ANTONIO, TEX . in big uppercase letters. 3viii on the shoulder and has OZ and CC scale gradients along the edges of the front panel. Color is clear glass with faint greyish tint. Its a mold blown bottle, double ring cork top collar, seams end down on the neck/upper shoulder area. Height is about 7-1/2 inches, about 2-5/8 inches across, semi-oval in shape with large sloping shoulders. This bottle once held up to 8 ounces of liquid so would have been one of the larger size bottles sold at this drugstore. Larger sizes are usually harder to find as they got broken or damaged much easier when tossed away. All of the embossing on the front is very sharp and readable. Excellent near mint condition with no chips, cracks or damage. It has some light patchy haze areas inside which I think would easily come clean if desired. Just a great looking Texas drugstore/medicine bottle about 100 years old. Larger photos below: Please review all photos and read the description carefully and/or ask questions before bidding.
