Up for Sale is a hard to find 1948 6454 New York Central boxcar This boxcar is very hard to find and it was made only in early 1948. It was replaced very early in 1948 by the very nice but also more common brown or tan NYC boxcars. I would rate the car a High Very Good to Excellent. Please see the pictures for your own analysis of the car. The car has some nicks and paint chips on the roof and also on the ladder rungs on the side The catwalks are not broken and the brakewheel is present. There is no rust on the frame but there is some very faint surface rust on a couple of the door guides. There are some dirty black spots that I did not clean off. I think it should clean up to be a very nice car I do not see anything missing on the trucks. I believe the price is very fair based on the scarcity of this boxcar. I ask that you contribute $10 towards priority mail shipping and insurance. I will cover the rest as I am pretty certain it will be more than $10. Thanks and email me with questions.
