VERY SCARCE 32/34 STAR U.S. FLAGScarce flag in a very displayable size, early Civil War Thirty-two star flags are pretty scarce, being produced for less than a year, from the admission of Minnesota as the thirty-second state in May, 1858, to the admission of Oregon as the thirty-third in February, 1859. This flag shows the addition of a sewn thirty-third star for Oregon and another, the thirty-fourth, for the addition or Kansas in January, 1861. The two additional stars have been added by hand between rows in the canton. These are done in the cutout style, using one piece of white cloth with the blue of the canton cutout to see it from either side. The condition is very good, with some minor holes and tears, but no substantial loss of material, and a couple of old repairs. The photos should answer most questions, but feel free to ask any additional ones. My first
