is a scarce western spice bottle from San Francisco, California . Embossed on one side panel, D. GHIRARDELLI & CO. and on the other side panel SAN FRANCISCO. Yes, this is the same famous chocolate maker of early California gold rush days. He also had a soda works located in Oakland across the bay from San Francisco that used a blob top cobalt blue soda also embossed with the Ghirardelli name. These were the only early California bottles made with the Ghirardelli name embossed on them . Totally shiney mint in original untouched condition , dark aqua with green tint, hundreds of tiny seed bubbles in the glass , 7 3/8" tall. The lip is a very crude tooled lip that almost looks applied. This spice bottle is a super nice pristene example and a great piece of Califoirnia history.
