With a reported mintage of just 24,000 coins struck and the rigors of the Wild West economy, the 1868-S Liberty Head $2.50 Gold Quarter Eagle is a very scarce coin in any grade. The genuine coin offered here is a very fine example with bright gold surfaces showing only a few light hairlines on the obverse which do not detract from the cleaned surfaces. We do note a small scratch above NIT on UNITED on the reverse. Furthermore, this still attractive Liberty Head Gold Quarter Eagle does show evidence of a past mounting at 12:00 on the rim that should have little effect on the final price of this very scarce San Francisco mint issue. Additionally, with reports of massive inflation in the future economy becoming a greater reality, small Gold coins like this 1868-S, are the ideal tangible asset to own. Consequently, we invite you to review our images, commentary, feedback and your favorite price guide to calculate a victorious offer for this very scarce Wild West 1868-S US Liberty Head Gold Quarter Eagle. Buyer pays $5.65 priority mail with delivery confirmation. Please feel free to ask questions before the last day of auction. Good Luck and .
