SCARCE Antique WWI Book, "PENNSYLVANIA IN THE WORLD WAR, AN ILLUSTRATED HISTORY OF THE 28 th DIVISION", Published in 1921, IDENTIFIED TO SGT. SLOANDESCRIPTION: Very scarce copy of this interesting, and very inclusive early book on the subject, published in 1921, JUST 3 YEARS AFTER THE WAR ENDED, SO VERY CONTEMPORARY AND CURRENT !!! Nice khaki colored cover with "The 28 th Division" and a big red keystone logo on the front. The 28th Division was also known as the Pennsylvania Natioinal Guard.This is volume 2 only, but it is set up as a stand-alone independent history book. It not only has photos galore related to the FAMOUS 28 th DIVISION during WWI, it includes specific information about the various brigades and infantry, artillery, machine gun, and trench mortar regiments, etc. HUNDREDS OF PHOTOS in its 425 pages. Very clear photos, including half page and full page. Some are soldiers and officers in uniform, as well as many towns, combat, cemetaries, and other war-related photos.This volume is particularly nice AS IT IS IDENTIFIED TO THE OWNER, SGT. JOHN T. SLOAN, Co. B, 110th INF, PNG (PENNSYLVANIA NATIONAL GUARD). This is written in ink in his hand in the frontspiece.Book is hard cover, and measures 10" x 7 1/4". Also includes some maps.
