Superb quality, World War II vintage, and a scarce southwestern U.S. variation known as the "Juarez" style. These USAAF bombardier wings are well made and heavy (see photo), beautifully stamped in solid sterling, in oversized three-and-a-quarter-inch size, completely untouched, and 100% original. Marked STERLING on the reverse. These scarce bombardier wings have TWO-PIECE CONSTRUCTION, with a SEPARATELY APPLIED CENTER DEVICE. The result is a very detailed and in-depth design that stands out from ordinary stamped one-piece wings. See McGuire, SILVER WINGS, PINKS & GREENS, p. 96 (bottom), and MORE SILVER WINGS, PINKS & GREENS, p. 140 (in sterling, second from top), for comparisons. In superb, beautiful condition, just showing a little tarnishing. Original brass pin-back fastener opens only part way (not completely), and the roller catch is in excellent condition.
