Items up for auction are 2 bottles from Scherrer Brothers and RA Hook. Scherrer brothers purchased Pearson Soda works (bottling portion) R. A. Hook bottle was in production 1 yr., 1937. He did buy out Sheerer who had the coca cola franchise but never used it. Hook bottled his own that one year then went full on with coke. The old coca cola bottling plant is now the new starbucks in Placerville . If you look at the building it says R. A. Hook at the top. Bottle 1. is embossed as follows: Scherrer Bros/Placerville/contents 7 oz. Bottle is heavy approx from the 1920-30's. It is in fair condition. The lip is clear of chips. T are numerous bubbles and marks in the glass. Normal for this period. T is one smooth chip on the bottom in the back. (see picture). T are also 2 places on the bottle that look like chips, however, they are actually in the glass. Bottle 2. is embossed as follows : R.A. Hook/successor to/Scherrer Bros/Placerville/contents 8 flu.oz.Bottle is heavy, but not as heavy as bottle #1. This bottle is in very good condition. No chips or cracks. T are external cosmetic scratches (light) I am selling bottles together because of the history of the companies. Collectors can link the two companies together.
