If red and pink are your colors, check out this unique shield brooch by one of the best costume jewelry designers ever, Elsa Schiaparelli.This fabulous brooch features fancy-cut glass stones in colors closely associated with her signature "shocking pink" -- hot pink, ruby red, and aurora borealis. All on a complementary gunmetal grey setting that just makes them all pop! Our brooch is featured twice in the book "Inside the Jewelry Box" by Amy Mitchell Pittman. A green version is featured as part of a set, then as a stand-alone (pp. 69 & 128). Value: $295-$325! None of Schiaparelli's jewelry pieces are ordinary; just the opposite, in fact. Like the designer, they are flamboyant, cutting-edge, and artsy. Which this brooch seems to be all that, in color and design. Our brooch has a shield-like shape with an winning combo of colors and shapes. At the center is a ruby red round cabochon, surrounded by navettes in red, pale pink, and black and oval crystals in hot pink and red. Close to the middle part is a bunch of topaz/jonquil iridescent stone accents and a pair of fuschia aurora borealis stones. Measures about 2 3/4" x 2 1/2", and has a superb gunmetal grey open setting. You can see all the pretty pinks and reds from the back; it's like looking into a stained glass window!
