T H I N K EASTER Schmid Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit Music Box 1977 This is a beautiful vintage, hand painted Schmid Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit music box made in 1977. The back reads "Peter Rabbit, Beatrix Potter, Schmid", and features Peter Rabbit eating carrots. The colors are still vibrant and beautiful. It rotates on a plastic stand when wound, and plays "It's a Small World". The bottom of the music box reads "F. Warne & Co., New York and London, 1977, Hand Painted". There is also a sticker on the bottom that reads "It's a Small World, Schmid, No. 209 Japan". This item is in good condition though I did notice that Peter's right ear has been glued on and there is a very small nick on the back of the same ear. It is a good glue job as I did not notice it until I was taking the pictures and turned him upside down. I have included pictures of the front and back of the head for your inspection. It stands about 6 1/2" tall and 4" in diameter across the bottom of the music box. This is a unique and collectible piece, and would make a great addition to any Easter decorations or baby nursery.
