From Estate in North Texas: Vintage & certainly a classic, Schrade-Walden #H-15 Bowie-Hunter Sheath Knife from the early 1960s era. Knife measures approx. 9 3/4" OAL with 5 1/4" "Bowie" style blade and features a stacked leather handle on full tang blade with alloy pommel and guard. Fitted sheath is sewn & riveted with snap closure at top, is double-slit for belt wear, and is in near factory condition except for darkened surface dents near tip. This oldie #H-15 Sheath Knife is still in outstanding overall condition with NO visible dents, dings, missing parts, corrosion, or other "problems. Carbon steel Bowie style blade appears to have been factory chromed (typical of the era) and is flat ground from cutting edge to centerline. The blade is clearly marked on left flat as follows: "Schrade-Walden" ... "N.Y. U.S.A." ... "H-15".(See Photos) Fine scratches on flat ground edge of the blade (should polish out) indicate that this Schrade Knife was used some over the years, but the stacked leather handle with brown poly spacers between leather and alloy pieces at both hilt & pommel ends, remain in very near pristine condition still. In general appearance & style, this Schrade-Walden "Bowie-Hunter" Sheath Knife would appear to have been strongly influenced by the military fighting knives of near identical configuration issued to various U.S. Armed Forces during the WWII era ... though, of course, your guess is as good as ours t! The cowhide Sheath is oddly slant cut & dropped 3/4" at rivet on forward edge as well, done to facilitate a fast draw & re-sheathing of the blade of course, another WWII era innovation that probably carried over into the first generation of post-WW knives for the civilian sporting market. Missing one of these #H-15 Bowie-Hunters from your private collection or vintage display case? Had one of these or similar way back when and want a replacement now for nostalgia as well as utility? Well look no further 'cause it is, still in outstanding overall condition, for the astute buyer. NO, they don't make 'em like this anymore & haven't for decades. Vintage & classic, Schrade-Walden #H-15 "Bowie-Hunter" Sheath Knife from the early 1960s (exactly as shown) is by offered to collectors, aficionados, and other interested parties.
