This is a vintage knife from times long gone. I have seen many Schrade Walden and Schrade model 225 folding hunter knives with Delrin handles, but I have only seen one with beautiful jigged strawberry bone handle scales. This was a rare find even when I found it 15 years ago. Ever since then, it has been proudly displayed in a case.

The knife measures 5 1/4 inches closed. The main blade is saber ground and marked Schrade (over) Walden (over) NY USA on the left side of the tang and 225 of the right side of the tang. The carbon steel blades are used and have been sharpened. The smaller blade opens and closes with walk and talk. The main blade is a little lazier. It opens fine with a gentle snap. If when closing the main the blade, if you let it spring back from about half way, it will snap, but might bounce back about a little and need just a little touch to rest it back home about an 1/16 or 1/8 inch. Certainly nothing to be embarrassed about.

The real beauty of the knife are the gorgeous jigged bone handle scales. They are near perfect. T is one small flect of a chip on the left front side next to the german silver bolster. You can see this imperfection in the photos. The color of the handles rage from soft dark brown to a warm strawberry red.

The overall condition of the knife is used as found. Quite serviceable with natural patina and marks of normal use. The knife does not appear to have been abused. This was a rare knife when Schrade Walden was still making knives and since then, they have closed their doors forever. I have posted many pictures, look at this one, you might not want to let this one slip by.
