This beautiful comport bowl has been part of a Southern Ontario china collector's treasure trove for years and I believe that is the reason it is in excellent condition with no cracks, no chips, and no crazing. I do not see any wear on the pattern or on the gold border. This is a small Schumann comport bowl in the Chateau Dresden pattern that has a reticulated highly decorated border with a slightly raised motif. I don't believe this bowl was ever used except for display. The bowl is 5 1/2" in diameter and 3 3/4" high. The base has a diameter of 3 1/2" and a height of 3". This would make a wonderful companion to the large comport bowl in the co-ordinating Dresden Line pattern that I am also currently listing. The bottom of the base has the Schumann blue mark "Bavaria Schumann DresdenerArt". According to my research, this bowl was made in 1918-1920. Check out my Be sure to add me to your favorites list !
