This is a good (though not perfect ) used example of a 23" Huret speedometer cable, just what you need for Huret-built Schwinn speedometer installations on Krates, Manta-Rays, or other vintage bikes with 20" to 24" front wheels. This is actually 1½" longer than an original 21½" Sting-Ray cable, but should work fine on a Krate, and also be a good fit on 24" Manta Rays. It might also fit very small-framed 26" bikes such as camelbacks, but please do your own measuring to be sure. It's compatible with all Huret-manufactured Schwinn Approved speedometers (usually stamped "MADE IN FRANCE" on the back), as well as Huret's own brand of speedometers. (It does not fit the large, round, 3"-diameter Stewart-Warner speedometers.)This is a clean used example in good working order, but does have a visible tire chafe in the outer coating between 8½" and 10" from the top end. (See photo 3) This has no effect on operation, and the cable can be installed with the scuff facing downwards so that it's not obvious. The rest of the cable is in good condition with minimal age discoloration and fully flexible plastic coating. It has solidly-attached connector collars and a good core. It is fully flexible, not brittle, and uncoils straight. Everything is still intact, and it works fin e.NOTES:Please see notes and photos above for the condition of this cable. read more
