SCHWINN "ORANGE KRATE" STING-RAY BICYCLE - NICE!! I have described this item to the best of my ability ... PLEASE look at the photos BEFORE asking questions. If you have any questions, or want more detailed information, please use the "CONTACT SELLER" button and I will call the owner for you with your question - Have a great day! You are bidding on a Schwinn Orange Krate Sting-Ray bicycle. This bicycle was purchased at an estate sale in Tampa, Florida and is in GOOD condition. The bike has some slight oxidation on the rims as is generally found on Florida bikes but it should clean up nicely with some "steel wool" and elbow grease. The banana seat has some minor "spotting on it but is in overall good condition and the seat has the Schwinn name plate affixed to it. The back tire is a 20" x 2.125" Wide Tread Schwinn Sting-Ray SLIK. The front tire is a 16" x 1.75 Tubular Rim Schwinn Superior Nylon Tire. Bike has a very "rakish" look to it. Both front and rear shocks are in good condition and travel freely. Both tires spin freely and are NOT bent or warped. The Schwinn badge on the front fork has the number 178 stamped on it. Chain is rusty but not brittle and can be cleaned with some WD-40 and a wire brush or simply replaced. The sprockets are in good condition but need some WD-40 as well. The wheels look good and have NO MISSING spokes and all spokes are nice and tight. Fenders on the bike show surprisely little oxidation and again, steel wool and elbow grease will clean it up. Reflector on back of seat is not broken and the "ape hanger" handle bars are in nice shape as well. Kickstand is nice and firm and stays in the up position very well. Chain guard is in good conditon. Pedal shafts have some oxidation and the rubber portion of the pedals look good and have years of wear left. Overall, this bicycle is in very good conditon and with some minor maintenance will be a great addition to your "Sting-Ray" collection or make a fantastic gift for someone. I will ship domestically for a flat rate of $79.00. I am NOT offering international shipping because of the obscene costs involved. I have included quite a few pictures below that show the quality and excellence of this bike ... if you have any questions please contact me. SCROLL DOWN FOR MORE PICTURES !! !! !! !! !! !!DON'T WAIT TOO LONG TO BID ON THIS OR IT'S LIKELY TO BE GONE!! PAY-PAL ONLY UNLESS PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS ARE MADE WITH THE OWNER!! WINNING BIDDER MUST CONTACT SELLER WITHIN 24 HOURS OF WINNING BID! THIS LISTING CREATED BY e-Auction Design Services The line in the ad that reads "The Schwinn badge on the front fork has the number 178 stamped on it." should read "The ... number 2178 stamped ...". According to my research that number means that the bike was manufactured on the 217th day of 1978 (google search pointed me to ). Another number was found on the "drop tube" that reads "GAK02940" ... so far I have not been able to find any references to this number. Hope this helps in your bidding. HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!
