This is a really sharp Schwinn Starlet lll from 1968 The Schwinn Catalog calls the color Violet The Starlet was Schwinn's top of the line lady's bicycle. The 50s catalogs called it "Queen of the Line" This bicycle is totally original. From the S seat to the violet glitter grips and large diamond Schwinn block pedals, nothing was changed. I took this completely apart to properly clean and shine it. It was worth the effort. Both the chrome and paint shined up very nicely. I greased the bearings, and tuned it up. It really rides like new. This bicycle has some very good parts on it. Sometimes nice girls bicycles are the best place to get parts for a restoration. The stamped S7 rims and are great. I would have liked to have had these rims for some restored Jaguars or Corvettes I have done. Nice S7 rims are hard to find. These rims have a very little bit of peppering and are not curb dented. I would use the rims in a restoration. The wheels are 26 " with clean spokes The rear hub is a Bendix Red Band single speed with coaster brake. The front hub is a nice old style Schwinn Approved. Both the front and rear racks or luggage carriers are nice. The front rack is tight and straight. Both racks have very good chrome. The rear rack is missing 2 "crutch tip" reflectors" T are Schwinn Approved repop reflectors available on eBay or Craig Morrow, read more
