ORIGINAL COVER ART RENDERED BY AWARD-WINNING CANADIAN ARTIST We âe(tm) ve recovered ORIGINAL cover art illustrated by Canadian comic book artist, Tim Hammell, in 1975. Adhering to the pulp-ish panache of sci-fi and horror movies (circa 1950s-1970s), Hammell rendered the front cover of "The Late Show" magazine (i.e. issue # 1). His homage includes a profusion of genre iconsâe"Caroline Munro (THE GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD, STAR CRASH, THE SPY WHO LOVED ME).Robby the Robot (FORBIDDEN PLANET).The CURSE OF THE DEMON gargoyle.The 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY spPat Barringer as the "golden girl" stripper from ORGY OF THE DEAD .Alien from FANTASTIC PLANET .Zombie from CHILDREN SHOULDNâe(tm)T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS .THE CREEPING FLESH (title character from the Peter Cushing/Christopher Lee movie).Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes .Harpo Marx as the "host" of this surreal sci-fi odyssey!The art has been rendered on a very thick fabric of 15x20 paper. The b&w shading is vivid, the detail is extremely intricate. Please note: this is ORIGINAL artwork âe" ONE-OF-A-KIND-- not a reproduction. Furthermore, this gorgeous masterpiece âe" 33 years old âe" has been preserved in MINT shape! Framed behind UV glass, it has been shielded from dust and discolor. As previously mentioned, the illustrator is Aurora Award-winner Tim Hammell, whose art has graced everything from comics books to the lauded sci-fi magazine, On Spec . Hammell was an apprenticing designer when he developed The Late Show âe(tm)s maiden front cover; he âe(tm) s now a lauded Canadian illustrator whose work has earned global acclaim.
