You are bidding on what I believe to be an original early Scottish Black Watch Brigade Feather Bonnet. T is a lable on the inside of the bonnet that says Hobson & Sons Army Contractors Cap and Accoutrement Makers, 13 S. Lexington, London England. Hobson has manufactured military uniform's since 1850. The feathers on the bonnet and plume are in very good condition. The wire frame and cloth on the bonnet are also in good condition. The chin strap is missing and the leather adjustment strap in the back is attached but has torn into. The sweat band is very worn and has come free from the bonnet but could be reattached. The black ribbon is also very worn and is hanging by a few threads but could be easily replaced. The bonnet has seen lots of use but still shows very well.
