Up for auction is a great unusual stoneware Whiskey Jug. Fancy black transfer decorated “The ‘Cray Thur’ Erin-Go-Bragh Dew Thom & Cameron Glasgow”. Handled stoneware jug, crude with cream to grey color base, highly glazed with tooled top and applied handle, jug measures 8” tall and 5” across at the widest point, ca. 1890s. The condition is excellent, no chips, cracks, or repairs, nice crudity with little lumps and dimples and t, t was a rock in the clay on the bottom when made and popped out at some point. The base has an impressed Port Dundas Glasgow Pottery Co. mark, Godden’s Encyclopedia attributes the mark and potter as Port Dundas Pottery, Glasgow Scotland, ca 1850s – 1932. This will be a great addition to your mini-jug, stoneware, bottle, barware or advertising collection!! Terms for closing the sale.
