Back then it was referred to as the Classic 1.5 which combines the Newport or Classic 1 head design with a short, semi-offset neck creating more toe-flow and helping square the putter face at impact. The Newport 1.5 has seen many refinements since it started out on Tour in 1993, including 1* more loft for optimal roll. Other improvements are a slightly wider stance with a draft angle on the sole so it sits properly, and a new finish that is durable, gives excellent feedback to the player, and has a beautiful, classic look. There were 2003 of the Classic 1.5 Prototype made and each comes with a unique, black Prototype headcover, specially made black and yellow grip, and both the head and shaft have the stunning Black Pearl finish.
