This is one of the most unusual items I have ever offered during my 10 years on ebay-it consists of 72 pages of typed text and 220 real photos most of which are postcards describing an African trip undertaken during the summer of 1935 by Dr Catharine Mabie and George W Carpenter -the scrapbook is housed in an old looseleaf binder marked Yale Co op-the trip started in the Congo and went down to South Africa before reversing direction and traveling up the East coast of Africa ending at Sudan-in addition to the text and many photos the book also contains travel ticket stubs and receipts from the journey-t is also an ocean liner menu-the text is particularly interesting because she writes in a very engaging style and takes great pains to describe w they are at all times-in particular, her descriptions and comparisons of the former African colonies of Portugal Germany and England are fascinating and of high interest to the Colonial African scholar-this is a magnificent collection that could still be published-excellent condition throughout with no damage of any kind-Paypal- $8.00 first class shipping in the USA - insurance is available in the USA only for $1.70 extra
