The Crocodile is unknown in Japan, and altho its skin is much prized, it is seldom if at all represented in art, especially on netsuke. this creature coming out of the lagoon, is lizard, dragon, is from the imagination of the artist. Sitting a scroll, having all the qualities of a reptile, and looking very fierce.. but, t are lily pads on his tail , in fact t are two of them. l had quite a time photographing this netsuke, so as to give you a picture of what it is like, the pictures really don't do it justice, and the fact that the cord with beads is still attached to the two holes on the bottom really adds to its charm. The cord is over 21" in length, and t are four beads knotted on the end of the cord. the scroll is 2" in length, and 1 1/2" wide.. The netsuke is in excellent condition, a unique addition for your collection.. In keeping with ebay's policy can only be shipped in the United States, altho, it is preban.
