Silverdollar Productions Morgan Series #008 – Ansonia’s 1925 “Dayton” Bim-Bam Tambour. If you want to see a perfect example of how we resurrect the dead, this poor Ansonia is it! Stored away for decades, we rescued this clock from what was surely a future of being a spider hotel. Rough to start with, now a beautiful addition to anybody’s home. The movement is a spring driven, time and strike key wind, original to this clock. The movement has been professionally overhauled and is in perfect running order. Other than the pendulum bob and key, every part of this clock is 100% original right down to the screws. This clock features its original silvered face, glass, brass bezel and twin steel strike rods. The clock has a Fast/Slow adjustment on the front to help easily regulate the time. The obsolete finish on the mahogany case was removed, sanded, and then completely cleaned inside and out. The luster that you see was achieved through extensive hand-rubbing over a period of nearly two weeks. Please note that absolutely NO stain OR polyurethane were used in finishing this case! The look of this beautiful, dark red mahogany is a tribute to the high quality wood used by Ansonia during the period. The brass bezel was machine buffed, then polished by hand. The clock was reassembled, tested and regulated and ready to be enjoyed by its next owner. read more
