SEA SHELLS 500 MILLION YEARS OF INSPIRED DESIGN This beautiful seashell was originally part of a larger collection of shells bequeathed to The Smithsonian Institute. As a collector, the owner of this shell traveled throughout the world collecting, cataloging, recording and gathering research on the various variety of shells worldwide. The color patterns Liguus fasciatus (Muller) are extremely variable. At this time, t are 58 named color forms in south Florida and the Florida Keys (Davidson 1965; Jones 1979; Diesler 1982), with others in Cuba. Several of the shells in my auctions/store retain the paper inside that states the type of shell and in some cases the location and dept the shell was found.
