Sea Turtle Carved Stone Animal Rock This is hand carved sea turtle is 3 inches long, by 2.75 inches wide, and about 1.5 inches tall. Also called Dragon's Blood Stone, this material is a pretty pale green with dark red splotches. It comes from Australia. It is actually a fuchsitic chert. Chert is a microcrystalline or cryptocrystalline sedimentary rock material. The Turtle lives to a very old age and so are often associated with long life. We can learn much about time and the perception of time by listening to the turtle. In most Native American cultures the turtle is the symbol of Mother Earth.
