Perhaps the most covenanted of all the SEAGROVE colors this CHROME RED bottle / vase is up for auction. My GUARANTEE is that if you BUY IT you will LOVE IT. Many NC pottery collectors have seen this and tried to buy it but I have decided to give the EBAY world a shot at this one. It seems that all agree this is a 1920's to mid 1930's piece. The usual VIBRANT red / orange glaze with a hint of yellow showing in the back ground which gives it that CHROME RED name. A very rare shape and design makes this piece highly collectible, I call it a BEE HIVE LOOK. It stands 12" tall, it is 4 1/2" across the bottom, at the widest point it is 6 to 6 1/2" wide, the OD top is 1 3/8" and ID at the top opening is 3/4". The almost perfect condition is amazing to think it is 75 to 85 years old. On the top lip t are 2 VERY TINY nicks or chips. I literally took a magnifying glass in one hand and a ruler in the other to try and tell you the size of these chips because my camara would not pick these up enough to show. One is about 1/8" to 5/16" long and maybe 1/32" deep. The other is 1/8" long and 1/32" deep or maybe not a full 1/32". These are on opposite sides of the top lip. I am sorry the photos are not so good but me and my camara are having some problems. This outstanding piece of NORTH CAROLINA pottery will look great sitting among other fine pieces
