Sears “1971 Spring Through Summer” Boston “242A” Edition Catalog
Sears Roebuck and Co. Spring Through Summer Boston “242A” Catalog for 1971. 8” X 11”, 1573 pages. Color and black & white illustrations.
This classic Sears catalog is a BIG collection of tacky polyester fashions, “modern” appliances, electronics and hundreds of decorative and useful items straight from “That 70s Show” that all Baby-Boomers will remember.
There are some great 8-track tape players (car and portable), great Daisy and Crossman BB guns and shotguns and rifles. I especially like the off-road “Trail-Tamer” mini bikes, go-carts and dune buggy parts (including a body that would fit on a VW bug). You can even buy a whole rebuilt VW engine (I think I bought one around this time). You will probably find your own favorites. This is not a Christmas catalog, so there aren’t any toys. But you will find musical instruments such as electric and flat-top guitars, drum sets and amplifiers, a banjo, all sorts of radios and TVs, clocks, watches, bikes (including Spyder bikes), boats, outboard motors and trailers, fishing gear, auto parts, cameras, movie projectors, living room sets, stoves, refrigerators, furry bathroom sets, braided rugs, ride-on lawnmowers, pools, tool sets, sanders, electric ranges, entertainment consoles and swing sets. Men, women’s and children fashions include a wide variety of polyester knits and “Perma-Prest” fashions, the “King’s Road” men’s collection, “Frontier Fashions” and so forth, as well as the underwear, socks, shoes, ties and coats that go with them.
This catalog has no missing, ripped or cut pages. Covers and spine show some scuffs and wear but are intact. A great trip down memory lane.
Very Good condition.

US BUYERS -Choice of USPS MEDIA MAIL, PARCEL POST or PRIORITY MAIL. Because of package weight (over the 4 lb. limit for First Class International), international shipping must be by Priority International Mail.
SHIPPING OPTIONS – Buyer pays exact calculated shipping (to your Zip Code or country)
For US shipping, these options are available:
MEDIA MAIL is the first option listed (because many of you prefer it). IT IS CHEAP BUT SLOW (2-3 weeks to some parts of the country). US BUYERS NOTE: The US Postal Service has stepped up inspection of Media Mail. Technically, items with advertising (such as this catalog) may not permitted but because this is actually an historical reference source, the rules are a bit hazy. If they inspect this package and decide to return it to me (hasn't happened yet), I will contact you. If you want quicker delivery choose one of these options :
PARCEL POST Delivery in 4-9 days for most of the US.
PRIORITY MAIL Delivery in 2-3 days for most of the US.
YOU WILL BE ABLE TO CHOOSE ANY OF THESE OPTIONS AT CHECKOUT.
All US shipping includes Delivery Confirmation tracking service (number available on request). IF YOUR SHIPPING ADDRESS that is on file with PayPal is NOT CORRECT, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. You will be responsible for additional shipping charges if an item is returned for incorrect address.
International Shipping is limited to Priority International Mail or Priority Flat Rate Medium Box (cheaper to some countries). Package weight will be over the 4 lb. limit for First Class International. Unfortunately, USPS Surface Mail is no longer available for international shipping. Other parcel services are more expensive. If you know of a cheaper service, let me know and I’ll use it..
