Here's a neat Sebastian made between 1948 and 1953 - the Jordan Marsh Observer. How did it come to be? Well, the Jordan Marsh Co. in Boston had a figure in colonial dress painted on a billboard overlooking the construction site of their new store. The store advertising department then had Baston design and produce a figurine depicting the character. The design was popular. Baston produced several hundred at a time until 1953, and the Observer became a trademark long after the construction was completed and the sidewalk superintendents had returned home. This piece is a gem. There's a little paint wear on the brim of his hat, but there are no chips or cracks. In addition, it sports it Marblehead sticker on the bottom of the base. This piece books for between $70 and $80, while the Marblehead label adds to that value. This one is being offered for only $49.99.
